Visiting Evian-les-Bains (France) again

Countryside feeling at the lake promenade
In the background: the headquarters of the world famous mineral water

Doing (part of) the historical city tour backwards.
Number 14 spot: the Casino - and number 1 would be ...
... the Church 'Notre-Dame de l'Assomption' in the background

Number 12: Hôtel de Ville

Number 11: Palais Lumière - originally the Historical Thermes ...
... once a 'Hydropathic Establishment', today a Congress and Cultural Centre

The brothers Louis and Auguste Lumière started to create moving pictures in 1892 and they held the first public screening of projected motion pictures in 1895, the same year when their 'cimématographe' was patented.

Number 7: Point of emergence of the Cachat spring

Here you can fill in your own Evian mineral water

Not far from there another spring - Source des Cordeliers

Number 6: The Cachat pump room (1903)

Read more about Evian-les-Bains and the legend behind its mineral water.

Lake Parade 2011 - Geneva

The organizers were lucky with the weather again

A classic Vespa (50 Special) parking on the route of the parade ...
... and a Vespa of the organizing team

Which helmet would you choose for your Vespa?

Visit to Nantua (France)

One of the (two) main streets of Nantua

The square in front of the Saint Michel abbey-church ...
... and the tower of the church consecrated at the end of the 11th century

Driving through the streets of Nantua

Goodbye to Nantua

Route of the day

I'm grateful to my colleague András (alias KomA) who gave me the idea to go to Nantua.

On the way to Nantua (France)

Crossing the Rhône river to Pougny

Fort l'Ecluse - la porte du Pays de Gex
A great fortification to be visited again

The Rhône river seen from the Fort l'Ecluse

L'Autoroute des Titans (A40 motorway) - just outside Nantua
There are no fewer than 8 viaducts over a 20-kilometer stretch

I'll be back on this route not least to cross this viaduct
