December 11-12, Escalade in Geneva

Choosing the longest night of the year in 1602, the Duke of Savoy tried to take over Geneva by force once again. According the the calendar of the Republic of Geneva at the time, it was the night from the 11th to the 12th of December. (According to the Gregorian calendar December 21-22.) The Duke of Savoy failed and never came back again. This is still something to celebrate in Geneva.
