 Lisboa, arrasada pelo tremor de terra de 1755, foi reconstruída pelo Marquês de Pombal segundo um modelo de urbanismo racionalista do século das Luzes. É hoje a mais cosmopolita metrópole portuguesa.

Devastated by the earthquake in 1755, Lisbon was rebuilt by the Marquis of Pombal following a model of racionalist urbanism from the Age of Enlightenment. Today Lisbon is the most cosmopolitan Portuguese metropolis.
